Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit oks-ui.com (the "Site"), the documentation and component gallery for the oks-ui open-source React component library. The Site is a static documentation and demo site with no user accounts. The only information we store about visitors is what is described below: blog comments you choose to post, and anonymous view and rating counts for blog posts.

Information we collect

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used — pages visited, approximate location (city/country level), device and browser type, referral source, and time on site. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect this information. We do not use it to identify you personally.

Advertising

This Site displays advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance. Theme preference

The Site remembers whether you prefer light or dark mode using localStorage in your browser. This value never leaves your device and is not sent to us.

Blog comments

To comment on a blog post you sign in with Google. We receive your name, email address and profile photo from Google, and store them with your comment. Your name, photo and comment are shown publicly under the post once we have approved it; your email address is never shown and is used only to contact you about your comment if needed. We moderate comments and may hide or delete any comment. To have your comments removed, email us at the address below.

Blog views and ratings

When you read a blog post we count one view per post per day, and if you answer "Was this post helpful?" we record your vote. To avoid counting the same reader twice we store a one-way hash of your IP address and browser type — never the IP address itself. View markers are deleted after two days. Your browser also remembers in localStorage that you have viewed or rated a post, so it isn't counted again. No cookies are used for this.

Interactive demos

The component playgrounds and template previews on this Site include mock forms, tables, and dashboards (for example, sign-in forms or a fake "contact support" form) that exist purely to demonstrate oks-ui components. Anything you type into those demos stays in your browser's memory for that page view only — it is never submitted, transmitted, or stored anywhere.

Cookies and your choices

You can block or delete cookies using your browser's settings. To opt out of personalized advertising from Google specifically, visit Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info/choices. Blocking cookies will not affect your ability to browse the documentation or component gallery.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy: Google Analytics, Google AdSense, Google Sign-In (only when you choose to sign in to comment), and GitHub (which hosts the oks-ui source code linked from this Site). We do not sell or share any data with anyone beyond what these services collect on their own behalf.

Children's privacy

This Site is intended for software developers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect as soon as this page is updated; the "Effective date" above reflects the latest revision.
